Two years ago, I had a wake-up call.
While working out one day, I experienced a dizzy spell that left me alarmed and heading straight to the doctor. The diagnosis? High blood pressure and high cholesterol. At the time, I thought I was doing okay—I exercised fairly regularly and ate what I thought was a decent diet. But deep down, I knew I could do better. I realised I had been coasting, and my health had begun to suffer because of it.
At 55, I made a life-changing decision:
• 💥 Get leaner
• 💥 Build more muscle
• 💥 Take control of my health for the long term
Turning Things Around
I started by cleaning up my nutrition, tracking my food, and learning how to balance calories and nutrients to fuel my body properly. At the same time, I committed to the gym with a structured plan. My goal was to build lean muscle, lose fat, and create a routine I could stick to for the rest of my life.
Fast forward two years, and I’m now 57—healthier, stronger, and in the best shape I’ve ever been. My blood pressure and cholesterol are back in the normal range, and I feel better than I did in my 40s. It hasn’t just been about physical change—it’s been about regaining control, feeling confident, and knowing I’ve set myself up for a healthier future.
Why I Became a Personal Trainer
This journey wasn’t just a transformation for me; it became my inspiration. I realized that so many people over 40 face similar challenges—weight gain, high blood pressure, reduced strength, and a growing sense that it’s “too late” to make a change. But here’s the truth:
It’s never too late.
That realization pushed me to go further. I earned my Level 3 Personal Trainer Diploma so I could help others take control of their health, just like I did. My mission is to support people over 40 who want to:
• Build lean muscle for strength and longevity
• Regain confidence in their bodies
• Improve their health and energy levels
• Create sustainable fitness and nutrition habits
